About These Encodings
- Base58: Designed for cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Solana, IPFS). Omits easily confusable characters (
0,O,I,l) and punctuation (+,/) to avoid manual transcription errors. - Base32: Uses standard 32-character alphabet (
A-Zand2-7). Ubiquitous in TOTP / Google Authenticator secrets and Tor `.onion` addresses. - Hexadecimal (Base16): Binary data representation using 16 symbols (
0-9anda-f).
